Exercise Science & Health Promotion

Careers in the Field

Promotion of health and safe exercise is done by professionals who are well-prepared and grounded in both the theory and practical applications of professional service. The curricula for the Exercise Science and Health Promotion concentrations provide a well-rounded approach to the preparation of graduates who serve in key positions in community, school and business settings. Professional careers include serving as:

  • community health program coordinator
  • personal trainer
  • wellness program manager in a corporate or non-profit setting
  • health educator
  • staff in-service trainer
  • health and fitness activity director
  • local recreation official
  • health and fitness specialist

Creative application of skills and a growing interest in and concern for healthy living have resulted in a wide range of career choices for Mason graduates with a degree concentration in Exercise Science or Health Promotion.
