Exercise Science & Health Promotion

EXS and HPR Degree Requirements (E1-BS-HFRR)

The Exercise Science and Health Promotion curricula provide tremendous opportunities to gain numerous skills suitable for an applied role. Students learn about how to plan and organize health promotion activities, how to evaluate and measure progress, and how to work with individuals and communities at risk. They learn about mental health, nutrition, and individual behavior change. Further, they become skilled to communicate better about health and safety issues, and discover how to navigate the complexities of community health systems. In these curricula, students also have the opportunity to go deeper by enrolling in elective courses that address other health-related topics.

To earn a Bachelor of Science in Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources with a concentration in either Exercise Science or Health Promotion, students must complete all General Education requirements (38 credits – which includes Biology 124/125), and a set of specific required courses (72 credits).
