New Course Offering!
Wilderness First Responder course to be offered in Spring, 2010! Are you feeling the need to brush up on your back country first responder skills? Or, is it finally time to learn what to do if you're outdoors recreating with your friends and someone sustains a major (or minor) injury? If so, then Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is the course for you. Students can register for 2 credits of PRLS 200, and receive 3-year WFR certification upon successful completion of the course. For more details, please contact Dr. Laurie Harmon at lharmon@gmu.edu.
Newly Revised:
The Certificate for Outdoor Recreation and Experiential Leadership provides students with specialized skills unique to a variety of outdoor recreation activities. Course work focuses on the acquisition of technical skills and application of theory in the context of outdoor recreation and experiential leadership. Students completing the program may elect to be certified as Wilderness First Responders and Leave No Trace Trainers and will be fully prepared to work as challenge-course facilitators at outdoor recreation and experiential education organizations.
