Hemlock Overlook
The Center for Outdoor Education provides cooperative education and overnight retreat facilities, as well as nature education programs and recreational opportunities to school systems, corporations, religious affiliations and community groups. It serves as the university's outdoor education campus, and is located 25 miles from the Fairfax Campus near the town of Clifton, Virginia. Hemlock Overlook is a regional park of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
Hemlock Overlook offers team development courses, overnight retreats, summer camps, and corporate training workshops, that use a hands-on methodology to teach cooperation, communication through experiential activities. Research projects can be conducted on water quality, land management, and surveying wildlife populations, among others.
