The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (SRHT) offers exciting, career-ready majors in dynamic fields such as athletic training, tourism and events management, health and physical education, kinesiology, sport management, and recreation management. SRHT features renowned faculty, cutting-edge research, six laboratories and centers, and a diverse student body of more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. Each major requires one or more internship or clinical experiences, ensuring that students graduate not just with a transcript but with a resume that demonstrates their professional aptitude and skills.

The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism values research and scholarship.  Faculty expand knowledge and understanding in a variety of disciplines and fields by publishing research findings in prestigious journals and by making presentations to national and international audiences. Our scholars support the research of others by serving on advisory committees and editorial boards, and as leaders of influential state, national, and international professional associations.

The Center for the Advancement of Public Health (CAPH) assists organizations and individuals as they promote health and safety. Established in 1986, GMU’s CAPH offers a range of resources and services designed to add value to local, state and national initiatives.
